The Smash Stories track is a great call. The bugs I remember most were never really about the bug itself, they were about the layer that caught it before it reached anyone.
Assume you will slip at 3 a.m. and build for it. That mindset has saved me more than any amount of being careful.

Perhaps the most interesting part of bugs isn't just fixing them, but understanding what decision allowed them to exist.
A bug is often the observable consequence of a hypothesis, a premise, or a decision that seemed reasonable at the time.
That's precisely why I'm building Genisys: an AI-powered deliberation system inspired by the idea of councils—different perspectives debating a decision before it becomes a problem.
In the end, perhaps the best debugger isn't the one that finds the bug fastest, but the one that helps us (avoid making the same wrong decision twice).
I'm building (Genisys) precisely around this hypothesis: before an important decision, deliberately introduce divergent perspectives to question assumptions, evidence, and possible consequences.
The idea is to transform the learning from each error into memory for future decisions—not just fixing the current bug.
Perhaps the next step in software engineering isn't just debugging, but decision debugging.
