Razer Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic: What Actually Changed?

Razer's 2026 keyboard names are close enough to cause a real buying mistake. The Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic Tenkeyless 8 kHz is model family RZ03-0592x and uses Hall Effect magnetic switches. The similarly named Huntsman V3 Tenkeyless 8KHz announced in May is model family RZ03-0575 and uses Gen-2 analog optical switches.

This is a source-based launch analysis, not a hands-on review. KeyboardTester.click did not receive, use, hear, or benchmark the keyboard. Specifications, prices, and availability were checked against named sources on August 8, 2026.

The useful changes

The HE Magnetic TKL keeps the features buyers expect in this category: adjustable actuation from 0.1 to 4.0 mm, Rapid Trigger, analog input, onboard profiles, and Razer's up-to-8000Hz claim. The sensing system is now Hall Effect rather than analog optical. Razer also lists Snap Flex and Dual-Keypress Priority for the magnetic launch.

The change is not an automatic upgrade in every area. The lower-priced magnetic model uses secondary media keys, while the analog-optical sibling has a multifunction dial and two dedicated buttons. Both have a 5052 aluminum-alloy top and doubleshot PBT keycaps. The HE model is wired, not hot-swappable, and ships without a wrist rest or USB passthrough.

Official regional stores showed the HE Magnetic TKL in stock at US$139.99, £139.99, CA$199.99, and AU$229.95 when checked. Prices and stock can change, and buyers should verify the exact regional layout code in the cart.

Who should consider it?

Shortlist it if you specifically want a wired Hall Effect keyboard in a TKL layout, will use adjustable actuation or Rapid Trigger, and prefer Razer's software and profile workflow. Keep looking if you need wireless, hot-swap support, a number pad, dedicated media controls, or a bundled wrist rest.

Owners of a recent Hall Effect or analog board should compare missing features before replacing a keyboard that is already stable. A different sensor label is not enough reason on its own.

Five tests to run during the return window

Start with the factory profile, save what you observe, and repeat after each profile change:

  1. Use the full Keyboard Tester to press every normal browser-visible key once.
  2. Try the combinations you actually use with the Keyboard Ghosting Test.
  3. Build practical chords in the N-Key Rollover Test.
  4. Check whether one deliberate press creates two browser events with the Keyboard Double-Click Test.
  5. Hold and release movement and modifier keys with the Stuck Key Test.

These observations can expose missing, phantom, duplicate, or logically stuck inputs. They cannot certify the full hardware matrix.

What a browser cannot prove

No browser page can verify raw USB 8000Hz polling, internal scan rate, a physical 0.1 mm actuation point, firmware correctness, long-term durability, or end-to-end gaming latency. Razer's reported 0.60 ms switch-to-host result is a manufacturer laboratory result with a defined endpoint; it is not a KeyboardTester.click measurement and not a click-to-photon result.

Input-priority features also need a current rule check for the exact game, league, LAN, or tournament. Rapid Trigger, adjustable actuation, SOCD handling, and automated input priority are not interchangeable concepts.
