You actually talk to trees? I'm starting to suspect you're into cultivation (like xianxia cultivation 😂). Where I'm from, lots of people hug trees — they believe you can absorb the tree's spiritual energy that way. Everything has a spirit, after all. 🌳✨
As for me, my hobbies are video games and reading. Games aside — for reading, I've been following one web novel for 7 years now. And when I really like a book, I'll reread it at least seven times. Any genre works, as long as it clicks with me.
Reading is such an interesting hobby, especially when you get so into a story that you completely lose yourself in it. And gaming is definitely one of the best hobbies, but honestly, the real-life games people play with us can be pretty interesting too. By the way, do you want to know why I talk to trees?

I’m from Rajasthan, which is roughly the size of Japan in terms of area. During COVID, I planted around 100 trees, and about ₹5,000 (around $60) was spent on their care and maintenance. At that time, people would tell me, “You’re going to spend all your money taking care of these trees. You’re a student, you’re studying too, and on top of that, you’re a girl. This isn’t right.” From the very beginning, people had a problem with what I was doing. They would criticize my trees and even criticize me.
But then I noticed that some of the trees were slowly drying out. I started feeling that maybe all the negativity around them was affecting them somehow, so I began talking to them. I would speak positively to them, encourage them, and simply spend time with them. Gradually, they started growing again, and today there are more than 300 trees there.
There are also many birds and squirrels living around them now. The sweetest part is that whenever I go there, many of the birds and squirrels come and sit around me. But when someone else approaches, they usually move away.
Maybe trees don’t understand our words in the same way we do, but spending time with nature has always made me feel a special kind of connection with it.
Actually, I think you're wrong about one thing — the trees did understand you. Or maybe it's that your souls resonated with each other. You gave them a reason and the confidence to keep living, and their answer was to grow strong. That's beautiful. This is what true harmony with nature looks like. 🌳

Four countries and three languages, and you still had room for a third hobby. Respect.
Mine is cooking. Most of my weekend disappears into it, usually into something I've never made before. I love food, but what really keeps me at it is that food is the fastest way into a real conversation with someone. Ask anybody about the dish they grew up on, and you'll get their whole family history in five minutes.
Some of what I've worked through so far:
🇮🇳 Masala dosa. Crisp shell, that gentle sour tang from the fermented batter, and the potato inside doing all the comfort work.
🇨🇳 Mapo tofu. The Sichuan pepper doesn't burn so much as buzz. Your lips go numb, and you keep eating anyway.
🇯🇵 Tonkotsu ramen. Broth rich enough to coat the spoon. Hours of work for something you finish in ten minutes.
🇬🇧 Steak and ale pie. Deep malty gravy and pastry that has no business being that good.
🏴 Haggis. Peppery, oaty, properly savoury. Much better than its reputation, and I'll defend that.
🇩🇪 Currywurst. Sweet, tangy, slightly spicy sauce over good sausage. Simple, and it just works.
🇺🇸 Texas brisket. Salt, pepper, smoke, twelve hours. That's the whole recipe, and it's still hard to get right.
Japanese next is a great call, by the way. The food alone justifies it.
As for talking to trees, that's honestly the most underrated hobby on your list. They listen, they never interrupt, and they never leave you on read. Just tell us immediately if one replies. 😂
My weird one: I read other companies' outage postmortems for fun. Someone else's very bad Tuesday, documented in full detail. It's the closest thing my industry has to true crime.
Let me recommend a dish — it's called Wo Tofu (sauce-drenched tofu). Ingredients: soft tofu, chopped spring onions, cornstarch, salt, soy sauce, and water.
First, heat some oil in a wok. Pour in the soft tofu — remember to crumble it into pieces first — then add a splash of soy sauce. Once the tofu changes color, keep stir-frying, then pour in some boiling water. Add a small spoon of salt. Next, scoop two spoonfuls of cornstarch into a small bowl, mix with water, and pour the slurry into the wok. Stir a few times and you'll see the sauce start to thicken. Kill the heat and scatter in some chopped spring onions at the same time. Then dig in — it's incredibly satisfying and goes great with rice. 🤤

Cycling! I live in an area with brilliant trails and paths through beautiful nature, so that's what I mainly do to chill and relax when I'm not behind a computer monitor :-)
P.S. used to do scuba diving, which is cool and fascinating, but it's been years now since I last did that ... nah, it's cycling for me now, and has been for 10+ years - very low barrier, no hassle, no planning, jump on that bicycle and go!
You like cycling, and I like riding a bike. They’re pretty similar, but honestly, yours sounds way more fun! :D
Motorbike, or bicycle? If it's the latter then it's not similar, but the same! I don't know which one is more fun, I just know that I like it!
P.S. so, which one is it? :-) I'm always confused when people talk about "a biker" or "biking", because it's never 100% clear whether they're talking about motorcycles or bicycles ...
In a place like the US, "biker" is a guy (mostly) wearing leather and riding a Harley-Davidson (with or without "ape hanger", lol) - but when I cycle around here in the neighborhood, people (well, little kids mostly) often shout "Biker!"
If I talk about myself, I actually prefer cycling more. But if the ride is around 9 hours long, I’d definitely choose a motorcycle—the kind you were talking about, like the ones you see in America.
Although, I mostly prefer trains for trips that are around 2 hours or less.
And by the way, you actually a rider!! Also, can you do a stand?
"Also, can you do a stand?" - sorry to disappoint you, but my 'technical' skills are close to zero, probably I started doing it too late for developing that kind of thing - it's more like "cross country" riding on pretty easy terrain, not crashing down steep mountain trails or anything like that ...
And yes, if the ride is 9 hours then I'd also prefer a motorcycle - not many of my rides are longer than 3 or 4 hours, I'm keeping it pretty basic and 'relaxed' :-)
P.S. your comment about the trees was fantastic - you planted 100 (or more?) trees, then followed up on how they were growing, and managed to 'save' most of them ... but, was it really the talking that saved them, didn't you throw some buckets of water here and there? I'm sure trees (and plants in general) like being talked to, but I happen to know that they simply LOVE being watered - how do I know? They personally told me so! ;-)
And one of the things I like the most while cycling (or "riding"?) is watching all those beautiful trees, as well as the tiny "critters" (especially butterflies) living around them ...

like other than those which I mentioned, I love to scroll on Wikipedia(especially defence sector like missiles, tanks and other military stuffs details), I like to play roblox and other games too. and btw you're not only the fan of techno gamerz as I am his fan from 2019s. so I love to watch his videos. I love to watch financial videos especially mark tilibury's videos.

Mine doesn't have a tidy name, so I'll show you instead.
A group I followed once posted a game: a drawing of a room, and for every object in it you had to name a song. The objects were easy enough. Then I dragged my cursor across an empty patch of wall for no reason, and a hover state I wasn't meant to find lit up a big heart where nothing had been. The song for it arrived before I'd finished grinning.
That's the whole hobby - noticing the thing that sits one layer under the obvious. Some mornings a half-finished coffee cup says more than a roomful of talk 🙂
My hobby these days is building iOS apps, but I used to enjoy making music🎶✨
Even now, when I don't feel very motivated to work on app development, I sometimes pick up my guitar and play songs my kids like😁. It's always a nice way to relax and have fun🌈.
I'm also interested in learning English, and that's actually one of the reasons I started posting on DEV.to — I wanted to learn both programming and English at the same time.
I was really impressed that you've learned so many languages! I was especially surprised to hear that learning Japanese is your next goal. I'm Japanese myself, but even I sometimes feel that Japanese is difficult 😂

I can spend a perfectly peaceful weekend setting up a server, self-hosting something that already has a perfectly good SaaS version, breaking it, fixing it, monitoring it… and then writing about why it broke.
I also have a dangerous habit of reading incident reports and infrastructure postmortems for fun. 😄 There’s something fascinating about following the chain from “everything looks fine” to “one tiny configuration choice took half the platform down.”
And when I’m not abusing CPUs, networks, or Docker containers, I like exploring new technologies just to understand how they work under the hood.
So I guess my hobby is basically:
Curiosity → build → break → debug → learn → repeat. 🔥
Talking to trees sounds considerably less stressful, though. 🌳😂
